Traditionally, many crazy sound effects came from Guangxi - including the first deep howling whistle batteries ("ghost whistles") that I know of. Unfortunately, there is hardly anyone left who still produces this effect here now, but I really wanted to create a classic whistle battery, as these are hardly available on the market anymore, but they can also be used wonderfully in planned displays.
The reason that there are hardly any such batteries on the market anymore is mainly because all such batteries from Hunan/Jiangxi in recent years have used plastic tubes for the whistles, which is no longer permitted under the new CE standard. Accordingly, the "Whistling Ghosts" already has whistles in paper tubes. Unfortunately, this (and the currently high transport costs) also makes it more expensive. In addition, the whistles were originally supposed to have twice as much powderweight, but tests showed that the cardboard tubes could not withstand this during pressing and were "squashed together", which resulted in many explosions at firing.
We therefore had to reduce the powder and the whistles unfortunately burn for much less time than I actually wanted, but the problem could not be resolved for the time being. I know how the whole thing can be solved technically, but the implementation of this will probably take another 1-2 years, as we need completely new presses and tools, different tubes, etc. Nevertheless, it is a product that will certainly be used in the opening or finals of many shows, among other things - I will continue to work on making sure that the howlers burn for even longer in the next batch or the batch after that.
