Two killed by fireworks at luxury wedding
A man and woman were killed at a wedding in a luxury house in the UK after dozens of fireworks exploded.
The victims – thought to be technicians – were preparing a display when the shed storing the fireworks caught fire following an explosion on Saturday.
At 3.15pm, several loud bangs were heard and fireworks shot into the sky for twenty minutes while the fire spread to a second building on the property and nearby car, The Times reported.
“It was very frightening. It was an enormous explosion which I had not heard anything like since the blitz in Manchester,” Enid Battersby, who lives near the scene, told the newspaper.
Four fire engines were called to tackle the fire and a neighbouring adventure centre was evacuated.
“We heard this almighty explosion and the best way to describe that would be a series of earth-shaking cannons going off," Anthony Middleton told ITV News.
