NEW CASTLE, PENN (December 31, 2006) Zambelli Fireworks lit up the night sky as millions of revelers watched this new twist on the Times Square Ball drop in New York City, USA. The countdown offered fireworks shot horizontally as the last seconds were shouted by the audience. The computer fired display was choreographed to Olde Lang Syne, a New Years favourite song heard across the world. Watch the video on You Tube or find out more here.
Fireworks were shot from a total of 29 separate locations on the One Times Square building. "New capless devices will be just one of the innovative technologies that will enable Zambelli's skilled technicians to create and execute a show that will be like none other."
"We are so excited to be working with the Times Square Alliance and Target on the most well-known New Year's celebration on earth," stated Danabeth Zambelli, president of the Company. "We strive to make customer service our top priority for every display and every event. We are extremely dedicated to doing whatever it takes to make this show, and all of the approximately 100 shows we'll do this New Year's, the absolute best that they can be. We have utilized digital show simulation technology to plan the Times Square show and will be using computerized-firing and computerized music synchronization on the display. The show designer, Matt Wood, will be using unique pyrotechnics and will be debuting brand new innovative capless devices."
The show was fired from several separate site locations using the FireOne firing system. The scripting and choreography was accomplished using the new ShowSim XL software from Passfire Labs, which allowed Zambelli to present a realistic looking video simulation of the proposed show to the event coordinators. The simulated preview played a crucial role in winning the bid away from the famous Fireworks by Grucci company, who have had a lock on the Times Square show for many years running. It would appear the future of winning prestigious displays may belong to those companies who can let the customer visually see exactly what they are buying
