Five high school students pleaded not guilty to charges after setting off fireworks at Schreiber High School in Port Washington on Friday. The charges against the teens range from arson to possession of a forged drivers license.

The students allegedly detonated fireworks inside and just outside the high school, resulting in the evacuation of the school’s faculty and students.

Daniel Fuentes, Travis Baugher, Michael Horvilleur, and Nicholas Divittorio, all 17 years old, and a fifth teen who is not being named because of his juvenile status, pleaded not guilty at their arraignment Saturday in First District Court in Hempstead.

They were conditionally released and may receive probation, according to Nassau District Attorney Kathleen Rice’s office.
Fuentes and the juvenile suspect set off fireworks inside the school, with Baugher, Horvilleur and Divittorio detonating more fireworks outside the building after it was evacuated, according to police.

Fuentes, Baugher and the juvenile were charged with fourth-degree arson, a felony. Baugher and Horvilleur, who both allegedly had fake New York State driver's licenses, were charged with possessing a forged instrument.

Baugher, Horvilleur and Divittorio were also each charged with unlawfully dealing with fireworks and criminal nuisance.

About 1,500 students gathered near the track and football field as they waited to be allowed back into the school, located at 100 Campus Dr. No injuries have been reported, but some of the school’s flooring was damaged as a result of the incident, authorities say.

The teens’ next court date will be on April 5, according to the Nassau DA’s office.
