Hi Guys!

Hows it going?

Hope all is well!

Im sure that the other members of the forum would agree with me when i state the fact that the Netherlands / Dutch forum is far more active than the English forum, which, i have got to say, is pretty much dead.

This is why i have taken it upon myself to start this thread in an attempt to get everyone to talk to eachother, learn a bit more about eachother and hopefully increase the level of activity here in the English forum.

I will now proceed to tell you a bit more about myself.

My name is Adam.

I am 19 years of age.

I currently live within the City and County of Swansea, Wales, UK.

I am currently registered with the BPA as a Professional Display Operator and am currently involved within the industry as a display operator on a part time basis.

I currently have just under 2 years experience working within the industry and have worked with a number of companies including Fantastic Fireworks, Phenomenal Fireworks and Pendragon Fireworks.

I am hoping to eventually make it full time in the industry either by opening up my own display company or by seeking full time employment with an existing display company.

Hi PyroKid!

All well here. Interesting to hear from you. What English forum is there? Why do you think that that is so inactive? Why do you think it is like it is here? What makes it so that FPM draws people like yourself too, and from all over the world together? (Most posts are still Dutch, right?) I know FPM is run by a great bunch of "maniacs", their info is great, and anything that smell of irresponsibility is "extinguished" effectively, and then the lay-out, the red glare attracks me, and my girlfriend is certainly keen to note everytime I have "that red screen again" on my laptop... ;)

Anyways, I'm interested to hear what you think (or other people from UK, or who can read/write English).

Kind regards, Hocus

Hi HocusPocus!

Nice to hear from you!

By "the english forum" i am refering to this particular message board which so happens to be the English Speaking section of the FreakPyromanics forum.

The reason why i feel like the board is currently inactive is due to the fact that nobody has made an attempt at posting a message / reply for a while.

The reason why FPM draws me (and other english speakers) to a predominantly dutch speaking forum is that we have a strong interest in fireworks / pyrotechnics in general and are interested in learning about the way things are done in different countries around the world as all countries have their own set of laws / regulations and as a result of this, things are done differently from place to place in order to comply with these laws / regulations.

It would be nice to see the english speaking section of the forum a bit more active especialy due to my recent experiences which include being discouraged from posting messages on the main forum in the english language.

Hey Pyrokid,
what changes of the forum can make this happen?

The Freakpyromaniacs.com website is very famous in alot of country's but i also think that we are missing some things to make it more attractive for foreign visitors.

Hi Tony,

I have no doubt whatsoever that FPM has worldwide recognition as it is a great source of pictures / videos of firework / pyrotechnic items and displays and has certainly relieved me of my withdrawl symptoms when work was far and few between, however, for people like me who truly have a significant intersts in fireworks / pyrotechnics on a global scale, pictures / videos are not enough.

Basically what i am trying to say is maybe it would be nice to consider making the text / reports available in english and or other languages so that we too can learn more about the ways in which things are done in other countries.

I think thats just the problem. I have the same ideas as you have but the problem is that we dont have someone we wright perfect english and have the time to do this.

Otherwise we had a mirror site in the english language.

Right.Here English topic is inactive.
I knew this forum from 2004 and knew friend from here. But last year I seldom came here.Because it was unfriendly here.My Id was block by one of the administrators for no reason.

Because people from different country know many sensitive imformation of fireworks:chemical, cost, factory, etc.

The problem is not that we are unfriendly that we have banned you but because of the fact that you are herrasing other members with your product mail ect ect . So dont do that any more please or i have to ban you again from this community.

At that time after I changed my password,I found I couldn't enter into the forum with the ID(In fact I should activate the ID by the link on my email that the forums sent me when I changed the password.I didn't check my email on time.).So I sent one email to ask my password. But the answer let me very surprise and very angery.........

Probably a bit too drastic, but what about switching the entire forum to English . Not as a mirror as suggested below, but as main language. Don't use Dutch anymore. This will probably also limit the posts of KeWlBoMbZ dudes. Ahhhh.... sounds like heaven. ;)
