European Fireworks Challenge - Rapperswil / Switzerland

Hi there,

since I did not found videos here from the European Fireworks Challenge in Rapperswil / Switzerland I just post my thread from www.FEUERWERK.net just here:

http://www.feuerwerk-forum.de/showthread.php?t=11527

This is in German so some words in English: it was an extraordinary competition with 3 x 30 min. displays with huge budgets and big prices. But through all 3 days it was heavily raining so some problems occoured:

- during the ship transportation (3 hours) of FireEvent/Austria it rained that hard, that 5-6 Explo reciever drawened. Although the pyromusical was wonderful you could see some problems on the right sight of the show.
- the Danish company never shot electronical before and they had rain all the day. So it was a really bad display with black wholes and boring cakes sequences.
- Bugano had rain too but there were no problems.

The two good shows are to be found here:

[Video] European Fireworks Challenge Rapperswil 2006: Österreich
[Video] European Fireworks Challenge Rapperswil 2006: Schweiz

Although it was raining all the time these two shows had exactly 30 minutes without rain - what a wonder!

Photos from the setup areas (5 pontons) come tomorrow...

Enjoy,
hope to see you in Berlin at Pyronale (but remember that it is said that all photos and videos are forbidden).

Thanks for sharing Pyro, but are you serious about the Pyronale? What kind of bullshit is that?
That's almost like "ok, you can come, but you have to close your eyes."

We have similar reactions on FEUERWERK.net. I spoke several times with the organisation and they agreed that no photos and videos of private persons and press - other than very few official photographers, video + TV and local newspapers - are allowed.
I don't know how they want to control everything at the entrance but this is for sure the offical output from the leading person of the Pyronale. No fake to hurt FPM, this is what it is said. I assume license and safety reasons (were small place for all the people - no place for tripods).

So, come and enjoy, and cross fingers for waether like today!

Yours
Markus
