The regional tv channel canal9 which retransmitted Fallas mascletas eveyday in Canal9 and the international channel, as well as many other fallas events, will be close in the next hours.
The regional tv corporation was known to have too much people working for them, low audiences and many expenditures, with a debt of 1200million of euros the goberment fired 1000 workers some months ago in orde to make it viable as they were also cutting the budget in every area of administration.
The workers and syndicates denounced the process for this reorganization of the channel, a judge gave them the reason som weeks ago and forced the valencia goberment to readmit the workers. As the goberment have no money to spend in the public tv corporation they decided to close it, and now is finally doing.
The radio signal has ceased, the tv signal will do in a few hours as the police is blocking the building and the workers are trying to avoid the cut of the signal.
This means that, unless the create a new tv corporation nest year, of which i haven't read anything yet, there will be no online mascletas in 2014.
National tv , TVE haven't ever retransmited mascletas, local tvs haven't the means.
