On the 1st and 2nd September, the Maifeld at the Berlin Olympic Stadium will play host to the World Fireworks Championship – a stupendous firework display that brings together the world’s top pyro-technicians.
The competition will be run over two evenings with 6 teams competing from China, England, Italy, Poland, Portugal and Russia. Spectators can expect an action-packed programme. The two set parts of the competition, each lasting two to three minutes, test the skills of the competitors to the full, first with a set piece of music and free choice of colours, then without music and the set colours of blue and gold.
This is followed by the
free style part where the teams can let their imaginations run riot with a stunning ten minute firework display lighting up the Berlin night sky based on the theme “My Country The order in which the teams appear is decided by lottery. The jury of experts and celebrities awards points for overall impression, originality, and harmonisation of music, colours and effects. There is also a special prize awarded by the spectators.
The winning team will be chosen at the end of the second evening.
The grand finale of PYRONALE will be a spectacular firework display specially created by PYRO-ART under the direction of the pyro-designer Hans-Georg Kehse. The two evenings also come with a full supporting programme with a wide range of entertainment and attractions before and between team appearances including fire eaters, clowns and acrobats performing among the spectators and much much more.
