Hi do anyone know if there will be any festival for 2013? I will stay in Sicily for the first week of August and would love to see a display like this. Unfortunately I can't find any information on the web about this.

No fireworks displays in Villafranca Sicula this year but are confirmed in Calamonaci on August 10th (firemasters to be confirmed, maybe Zio Piro Vaccalluzzo vs La Rosa)!

Why is there no show in Villafranca this year? Or is it that the the fireworks show is moved to Calamonaci?

No fireworks in Villafranca Sicula because associations with budget will restore statues of San Michele and San Giovanni Battista.

Calamonaci is another feast near Villafranca in the same period.

Thanks carlo for the information about this years festivals. Sorry to hear that there will be no fireworks this year in villafranca sicula. Hopefully we will have a massive comeback for the nest year :)

I'll seriously try to make a trip for next year so I can catch up with both these shows, on the first and second weekend of august. Those 2012 displays in Calamonaci were truely nice too, and with some HUGE ball shells. I saw that rigging video for the La Rosa show, the biggest ball shells must have been like 40-50 cm diameter? They broke very nicely too.
