Four female workers killed in fireworks factory fire in southeastern Brazil
A fire broke out at a fireworks factory in Santo Antonio do Monte, southeastern Brazil, on Tuesday morning, Fox News Latino reported.
Part of the Fogos Globo factory was destroyed in an explosion triggered by unknown causes, but firefighters managed to contain the fire in a short time.
Four female workers, aged from 25 to 42, died in the fire. Another 20-year-old male suffering from first-degree burns is now hospitalised, but is said to be in good condition.
The factory appeared to have fulfilled the mandatory requirements on fire safety, as it had obtained all necessary and up-to-date documentation.
