Is it that Groupe F dude or one of those Caballers who designs all that comet work-would hate to rig one of his shows.

I will at this moment point at Vaccalluzzo/Gamma-p to present the best displays fired with the finest materials.. (their last big victory was to win the Tarragona Champions edition in 2006, to give an indication)

This is something that we cannot judge over. We dont see all the pyro live at work. We only see some of the biggest at work but there are thousends around the world who can shoot great shows. So i think this will get a discussion of nothing.

I agree with Tony.
Besides that we all have our personal preferences. I for one, don't like Groupe F (as you might have noticed in another post).

I think some of the Japanese companies may have a shout for the title...wish we could see more of thier work in Europe. The quality of the shells is amazing at times.....

A friend of mine has been following Group F round for the last year filming all their Displays in HD for a new 'Discovery' Documentary.....the footage is it seems amazing will be on your screen soon. Group F can be a bit tooo arty for me at times but are a class outfit......

Its a difficult call...maybe people should list their top 5 display companies (in no particular order) and a favourite will emerge.

But where can we see Japanese companies in Europe? A world wide festival is an option, but where are that kind of festivals?

In Düsseldorf (Germany ) yearly Japanese pyrotechnicians shoot a fireworksdisplay (japanese style) with very special shells (kitty's etcetc). This show is organised in May each year during the "Japantag".

Düsseldorf comes on the 3th place with the largest population of Japanese People in Europe (1st London, 2nd Paris).

Last year this show was cancelled due to very bad weather during that day.

The Japanese fire this display together with Bleaser Feuerwerk GmbH, because of the fact that the Japanese pyrotechnisians do not have the "right papers" to shoot this..

But they only shoot some Japanese shells. The most they use are not Japanese but Chinese. Although is a pretty nice show wich must been seen.

See the show of 2005

I think that everyone has his own taste of what he or she likes. And every pyro-company has an own character and idea of shooting shows although they always try to come with something new.
For me are Göteborgs FyrverkeriFabrik AB the best pyro's.

I don`t think that anybody can answer that question because of the fact that you can subscribe that titel to only one person.
Fireworkshows are made by teams/company`s, who often work together for a lot of years before they reach a certain level of masterpyrotechnicians.

In my opinion are the fireworkers in Malta the top of the bill, because they manufacture everything themselves and everybody is working with great enthousiasm to create something special every year. Where others order their boms and just create their show, these people use newspapers and everything they can use for making their own stuff.
They create big shows with low budget.
I don`t see the caballer do that.

So in terms of budget compared to show`s they are my winners.

I think is possible to do a ranking of the best companies, but not say exactly which is the best. I ask you: if you were charged of an hipotetical fireworks competition wich companies you would like to see on the schedule?¿
My personal choice (for me, the best companies):
1- Marumataya Ogatsu. Japan
2- Ricardo Caballer. Spain
3- Lacroix . France
4- Weco. Germany
5- Ipon. Italy
6- Vaccalluzzo/gamma-p. Italy-Germany
7- Pirotecnia Igual. Spain
8- JNS. Nederlands
9- PyroSpectaculars by Souza. USA
10-Sunny Fireworks. China

Well then you dont know anything of the Caballers.
This people also make all there own shells, candles, single shots, girandola's and everything you can imagine. Okay they dont use news papers but this is because they had the luck to earn money with there shows.

And please dont forget the Italian company's. And then i am not talking of Parente but all the others that you can see movies off on this website. These are also masters in fireworks. They all make there own shells and believe me some are very very good.

I am not saying that the Maltese fireworks ae not special or good but never forget the others who puch as much of a effort in the making of there products.

Thank You tommy for Your comments. I think We in Malta are one of the best in the World but the compettion is great. I think the Japan and China are masters in Spherical Shells. Cylindrical Shells are masterpieces of Spain, Italy and Malta. When We came to shapes I think Malta will top the group.
What I mean is that every1 have ist strong point.

This is the problem...until you see things 'in the flesh' how can you judge them? I haven't been to Malta or Japan. Seen lot of shows in the US and Australia they are great, would love to go to Japan and Malta...Malta is on the cards this year...

The Malta International Fireworks Festival is on 29 and 30 April.
Our Feast of Santa Marija is 09-15 August.
There are some photos and videos of Our Fireworks on this Forum.

I know Tony, about the spanish and Italian people, but they are commercial.
The people (the most) in Malta do it for fun and don`t earn anything manufacturing their fireworks. Like i said they manufacture everything themselves. The Caballer buy mostly half-fabricates and use that to make their own stuff. Thats logical because they dont have so many people working and time to manufacture everything themselves.

But dont forget that there are many Spanish company's that dont export fireworks. You are talking about the caballers but only in the Valencia region there are more then 20 firework company's that make all the stuff for them self and there are not so commercial. For the Italians it also the same as for the Maltese although the Maltese are really not earning a dime. But see the shows of Fuokista. You see budgets of 4000 euro and have you seen the amount of shells and the qaulity.

We have seen very poor company's in Italie (Adelfia, San Severo). I think we cannot end this discussion how we want because the Maltese make beautifull fireworks , The Italians also but different and unique in there way and the same is for the Japanese and Spanish fireworkers.

Group F with Christophe (excuse my spelling) gets most of the top line high profile displays all around the world. I would suggest that he/they have the worlds best reputation at least.

Sorry Tony and others but I have only seen bits and peices of footage of his work. Never seen a full Pyromusical because still waiting for my DVD ;). Never seen them live because they seldom come to the States what with them being French and all. What do you guys think are they the best pyros or the best salesman?

Groupe F has indeed very nice shows. But it is always the same thing. Steppers , steppers and more steppers. No believe me i like steppers but not everytime and not 80% of the shows.

For me still its difficult to say.

What do you think about Eric Tucker ??
