The Ministry for Tourism and Culture in association with the Malta Tourism Authority is proud to present the Malta International Fireworks Festival, to be held at the Grand Harbour in Valletta. This event is guaranteed to delight all those attending as it is a showcase of the best pyrotechnical displays produced not only by Maltese enthusiasts, whose craft derives from hundreds of years of experience in the field, but also by internationally acclaimed pyrotechnic firms.

This event will also commemorate the 3rd anniversary of Malta's entry into the European Union.

anyone will be coming over here for the festival?
There is not so much information given till now :|
The only things that I know are that the local participants as competitors will be:
Mount Carmel Fireworks Factory of Zurrieq and St. Joseph Fireworks Factory of Ghaxaq.
Saint Mary Fireworks Factory of Mqabba (Overall winners of last year's festival) will be concluding the show.

That's what I know till now !!

I will arrive 27 or 28 April, i'm really looking foreward!! The people of Mount Carmel Fireworks Factory of Zurrieq are good friends of me, i will stay at their house. It is going to be a great holiday, lots of friends to meet, and see the most beautiful fireworks display in the world!!

@jonmif, i heard there will be other displaycompanys from Australia and China to show some of their fireworks?? Do you know anything about that...?

well, Malta for life for me!

I will try to get a good digital camera, so i can show some of this wonderful event to our friends on FPM.

Re: Malta Fire Works Festival

This year is the first time the MountCarmel Fireworks Factory of Zurrieq is competing in this event. Usually we hold our annual display on the first weekend following the 16th of July. Among the best items in our portfolio of pyrothecnic shells; are heavy calibre Japanese style Worimono shells, ("Blalen" in Maltese), multibreak cracker shells (murtali tal-beraq " in Maltese) and colour shells("murtali tal-kulur" in Maltese); Spider web cylindrical shells ("Sfejjer" in Maltese) ,Kamuro Shells (willow effect stars) and pattern shells ("Forom" in Maltese)

For this occassion we are putting together a spectacular display which will include all sort of imaginable aerial and ground pyrothecnic effects. For the time being that's enough of a teaser. If you want to know more I am sorry but that's highly confidential. One thing I can say for certain, If you come over you will not regret it.

Mantronix en ik zijn nu dus op malta voor dit festival, op vuurwerkcrew houden wij dagelijks een dagboekbij met foto's en info over de shows.

Ik houd het dagboek al sinds 28 April in de gaten, zeer leuk opgezet allemaal.
De opbouw ziet er erg vol uit, ben zeer benieuwd naar de filmpjes.
Veel plezier nog in Malta.

ja de opbouw ziet er vol uit, maar vanaf zo'n grote afstand (ze bouwen de shows op midden op het water) zie je tog veel over het hoofd, de eerste avond had ik dus wel een 20'' en nog 1 of 2 grote kalibers zien staan, maar tijdens de tweede show gingen er tog egt een stuk 10 naar boven van 12 en 14''...

Ik kan al zeggen dat de video's goed gelukt zijn en als we terug zijn in Nederland zullen we alles online zetten:smile:

PS, vanavond schiet Orzella uit italie en st mary's fireworks factory waar we een bezoek aan hebben gebracht.. belooft veel moois te worden, nu hopen dat de wind beter staat als de afgelopen 2 avonden:suspicious:

Op Youtube/Google staat er al een mooi filmpje van de show nummer 2 op 29 april van Malta- Mount Carmel.

Kruitsnuiver was in zijn dagboek al erg enthousiast over deze show.
Ik kan me dat goed voorstellen na het zien van het filmpje.
Onvoorstelbare grote bommen worden er afgeschoten. Prachtige show.

De grote pijp was een 19" ronde bom, met 62 rode 4'' ers erin.
Vuur de rest was het vooral 15'' en 10''. De show was erg mooi, alleen werd hij even onderbroken omdat de schietcomputer in brand vloog. De shows van de chinezen en de oosterijkers viel tegen vindt ik persoonlijk, maar de waanzinnige finale van Mqabba maakte alles goed. Ook het twee uur wachten tussen twee shows waren vervelend, maar het bier smaakte goed, en het uitzicht was fantastisch daar!

Pikant detail, al het niet Maltese vuurwerk werd afgeschoten door Orzella, en bevatte grotendeels chinees vuurwerk. Onze opnamens en foto's komen zo spoedig mogelijk.

Thank you for sharing them with us, although nothing can beat the shows when i saw them live in Valetta, but i still get the chilling feeling when i'm watching the video's!

I hope to be in Zurrieq again in July, during the festa!!

Hy Adrian, i'm trying very hard to get overthere but it is going to be difficult for me to get another vacation in that period, because it is a very busy time for my company here...

First of all i would like to get back to Malta as soon as possible, just because i really love the island and it's people! Second, i don't want to miss any show put up by Mt. Carmel fireworks factory, because it is the most amazing fireworks i have ever seen.

Good luck with preparing the fireworks, i know you are working hard for it!!
