Fireworks Expo opens Thursday at Lakeside Park (us)
f you hear a boom and bang this week, don't call police.
The Fond du Lac Police Department is reminding residents the National Fireworks Association Expo is in town and will be shooting off fireworks after dusk Thursday through Saturday at Lakeside Park West.
Last year, police and dispatchers were "overwhelmed with calls" from people regarding the noise from the fireworks event, said Major Kevin Lemke.
Lemke said association members have the necessary permits. Fireworks should wrap up around 10 p.m. Thursday and 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
The public is welcome to view all the displays at Lakeside Park, a NFA representative said.
