Fireworks And The Law, UK

Hi All,

I'm going on a holyday to the UK in about 4 weeks.

But I have a question, I've read on this forum that fireworks in the UK can be bought, stored and ingnited all year till 11PM on your own property.

Well I'm going on holyday so I don't own my own land in the UK.

Will this be a problem?
ex. If I just find a quiet field to ignite my fireworks where nowbody is really bothered by it, will it be a problem? Because I'm a tourist.

And will the police be harsh with me? Espescially with the terrorism past month?

Yes you can buy fireworks all year round, but you have to be old enough and I would suggest that you get permission from someone to set fireworks off from their private land and make sure that their land is appropriate with regards safety distances. Its frowned on to just set off fireworks on common land. Maybe if the hotel you are staying at have large grounds they may let you fire some pyro.

As for the police being harsh, well as long as you don't do anything 'illegal' they will leave you alone.

My garden isn't even big enough for anything other than Category 2 lol....

I am sure that if in advance you ask where your staying to sort you a venue/location out (and you offer them enough money) you will be fine.
