Hey guys and gals.

I was wondering what happened to the English Section of tis forum since its not as active as its used to be?

I dont know about the Netherlands / Dutch forum but the English forums seems to have lost some popularity. Last year this time round I remember it was much more active.

What happened?

I check the site a few times per week and would happily respond to any thread where I could offer a helpful comment. I too have noticed that there is not much activity, but I figure it is probably due to most people on the site being Dutch.

You are both very lucky to be in Malta right now. I wish that I could also be there, at this time. Around now is when most of the festas should be starting, am I right? I believe that the St. Sebastian firework show will be next weekend and most of the others are close in the same area of time.

I plan to come to Malta within the next years time. Perhaps I will have a chance to meet some of you from the board while I am there touring the factories. As of now, I only have one good contact who lives in Malta, and he is with the St. Sebastian factory. Thier factory is my main destination, but I would like to see some other factories while I am there and tour the cities if I have time.

I could use advice on where to stay while I am visiting. I am told that anywhere in Malta that you stay is close to a factory, because there are lots of factories and Malta is not a large place. Still, I am looking for suggestions from people who live there.

If you both feel like talking about Malta, I could certainly come up with many questions to ask. This might also help to spread information to others who are considering visiting your fine land of fireworks.

999, the best months for fireworks are June, July and August. In other months there are also fireworks shows but my preferentials are mostly July and August.

Like: Saint Philip Zebbug, St.Gorg Qormi, St.Joseph Ghaxaq, Tal-Gilju Mqabba, Lourdes Qrendi, St.Andrew Luqa, St.Nickolas Siggiewi, Salvatur Lija, St.Mary Mqabba, St.Mary Ghaxaq, St.Mary Qrendi, Tal-Karmnu Zurrieq, St.Catherina Zurrieq, St.Sebastian Qormi, and some others which canot come to mind at the moment.

Some of these are mostly renowned for airial displays while some are for ground displays and some are well renowned for both.

On the web most of these clubs have their own websites.

Sorry Tony,

I just said welcome to 2 new Maltese on this forum from Mqabba and Lija and that I am looking forward to their contributions.

May I note that Mqabba and Lija are 2 well renowned Villags for Maltese fireworks. Mqabba is mostly renowned for their Pyromusicals and Lija for the Quantities.

Another note: today is the eave of the feast of Madonna Tal-Karmnu (http://www.carmelitesocietyzurrieq.com/) in Zurrieq and they should have a nice fireworks show prepared for tonight.

Yesterday I heard that I'm going to miss the big show in Lija, because our plane lands in Malta at 23:45 on the 5th of August (which we thought was going to be on the 6th). Bummer. I hope the other days will make up for this miss.

About me.

About me:

Name: Roderick Bajada
Age: 21 (22 in 2nd December)
Location: Luqa, Malta
Union Philharmonic Society AD1880 (www.unionbandmalta.org)

I do not produce fireworks but since i live just in front of the fireing point (valley) of the union band club, I just grew up loving fireworks. My part in our feast is to catch fireworks on videos for www.unionbandmalta.org. from the videos I take out photos as well for the site. Thats the best I can do since I dont have much free time since I dedicate my free time for my girlfriend and family. I am a full time Martial Arts Instructor which i have been doing since I was 5 years old.

My hobbies are: Village Feasts, Fireworks, Cars and Formula 1 (Mclaren fan).

What else can I say.... let me think...

You can see some of my work of 2005 feast on www.unionbandmalta.org, this includes some videos, and new wallpapers. The webmaster of the site is Kevin Camilleri. Many more videos and photos of 2005 to be added to the site very soon.

Il be coming to Mqabba on the 14th :) its a bit unlucky for me since the eave of the feast is on Sunday and monday morning both me and my fiance have to go to work... Maybe i'll miss the ground fireworks...
