This two last years , products made in china are better and better.
I look firewoks in europe , and chinese bombs are now more complex , the color are nice.
I think in few years , the quality will be near italian or spanish products , and with a lower price , everyboby will work with chinese products !

But they can't get to the quality that we in Malta do.. :)
Of course chinese fireworks are nice and the price will be cheaper.

We'll see whats gonna happen as time goes by !!

I like Chinees firworks and also European fireworks. Chinees products are cheaper than European products. That is the most important factor.

We see that the quality of Chinees products are better each year and thats good.

The quality of chinese product is up and down in my opinion. There are so many companies, it's not possible to give feedback on "chinese fireworks" it's just too broad..

In shells, star quality is number one importance to me. Next is symmetry, and third consistancy. Sunny, YF and Vulcan are the best ones I normally get to see.. and only some of Sunny are really good, many are just average. They have the capability to make great stuff, they just don't always use it!

Sunny

+ Fantastic star quality. Good colors, good streamers, good strobes.
- Unpredictable break sizes. Many shells are over broken, probably with flash assist which would account for why some are bigger than others.

YF

+ Fantastic colors, shapes and unusual effects.
+ symmetry is excellent, consistancy is excellent. attention to quality of finished goods is very good.
+ This is probably my favorite Oriental shell maker that I am aware of right now, without counting Japanese mfgs.
- Expensive. hehe

Pyroformex..

+ good consistancy, all shells perform in a predictable manner.
+ good symmetry, and bright stars
- too short of star duration in most cases
- colors are not as vivid as I'd like

What firework company do you work for, and what sort of feedback would you like to hear about? What process in the factory are you responsible for?

What types of things can you tell me about? Who are you seeing in China that is making the best products that we should be looking at?

Lidu and vulcan (premium selection) are known for the quality of the products.
China is famous for the cakes. You can make nice fronts with cakes and fountains.
I prefer European candles. They are the best. China still has a long way to go for having the same quality.

China CAN make good quality fireworks, but in most cases the buyers want everything for less money. The Chinese will eagerly deal and lower prices, but in return you get a lower quality product. If you look at YF shells for example, they are up pretty high in quality from every aspect. It's higher priced, but it's a superior product to most others. They are in Taiwan, so is that grouped as the same as mainland China, or considered separate?

I agree that nobody really beats (Caballer) colors. They look so fantastic on the videos posted on FPM. So much variety of color, and such great hues.

I have not seen many European candles yet, but this year there is a company here who is now importing from La Rosa fireworks in Italy.. so hopefully I will get to see some at PGI convention in two weeks. If you ever have the means to visit the US in early August, make sure you come to the PGI convention. It's the greatest US fireworks event that I am aware of so far.

Japanese or Americans make the best ball shells. The best ball shells I've seen yet were at PGI this year from an American company called Pearl Pyrotechnics. In one word - PERFECT.

Maltese make the best large cylinder multibreak shells. There might be some Italians who can compete - but I haven't seen them yet.

Spanish make the best pastels/ widest color spectrum and have the most style with awesome use of mines and comets. Caballer is awesome.

Nobody can touch the Chinese for price. It's crazy how cheap the fireworks are from China at or near importer level.

It is very difficult to say in wich country you can buy fireworks. If you want compacts then you have to look for a good copagny in China. Do you want very nice color shells then you have to go to Pirotecnia Zaragozana ( Spain ). For kamuro candles and shells you better go to Igual ( Spain ). For pastel colors to Vicente caballer. In Italy you find the best cylindrical shells (Malta doesn't export fireworks I think). Basic shells like peony, chrysanthemum, ring etc.. you find this in China.

Yes I agree Malta we are not the best for ball shells but we are the best for mulit-break coloured shells and muli-break cracked shells. We of St. mary Fireworks Group of Mqabba Malta we do some amazing shaped shells like stars, smileys and also letters. We dont export fireworks mostly we do it on voluntary terms for our own pride.

I agree with august15
Here at Malta we only sell from one village to another and we rarely export to other countries. Only one time I remember that fireworks were exported and it was many years ago.
I think that everyone should take a look at my Photos uploaded on this site and give a look at the beautiful photos I have taken during the Saint Mary feast @ our small village MQABBA - MALTA.
Keep this in mind then: FIREWORKS ARE PRODUCED VOLUNTARILY IN MALTA !!! and our quality is going better I think.

If anyone wants some video clips of multibreak shells from 6" to 10" just tell me and I will send them !!!

I would like to see your video clips jonmif. What method of transfer do you prefer? If you like, you can PM me the information. My connection speed is pretty strong, with the fastest servers I can get 500KB/s down - so I'll take anything you will send me.

Thank you.

Hi 999, sorry, my brains mustn't be working this morning, but what's YF stand for? Do they have a website? Interesting thread.

Kind regards, HocusPocus.Pyro

By YF I meant Yung-Feng company. We commonly call it YF, I guess just because it's faster or easier and I think it says that on the outside of the box too. They are Oriental, but the main factory is based in Taiwan. The quality of thier product is very high compared to most common Oriental fireworks. You can tell that they put quality high on the list of priority.

The above link is the only website of them that I am aware of.

Silver nishiki kamuro and golden silk chrysanthemum are some of my favorites from them. Honestly though, they do a good job at all different shell types. SOS, chrysanthemums, peonys.. it's all nice stuff.

Read every posts carefully. yes. you all said it, chinese fireworks are most famous for the cheap price compare to other countries manufacturers. but i might say most chinese manufactures produces fireworks according to the sales price, just to maximize our sales price. must i also admit that our technology are not that good compare to technology this happed because of many factors. we also have good quality, these company you mentioned YF, Vacan, their factories are all now located in China mainland.
