British Fireworks Championships 2007

Plymouth, UK 14th and 15th August 2007

The proposed English heats of the British Firework Championships will now take place in 2008, this year it has been decided by a draw. The Welsh heat is on the 5th May at Chepstow Racecourse and and Scottish on the 26th May at Perth Racecourse.

The successful companies, and the firing order for the Championships, are listed below:

Tuesday 14th August

Tunbridge Wells Fireworks (the 2005 reserve)
Winner Scottish heat (Blast Design Fireworks/Fireworx Scotland/The Midnight Storm Firework Company)
Winner Welsh heat (Celebration Fireworks/Pendragon Fireworks/Westcoast Fireworks)

Wednesday 15th August

Viking Fireworks
1st Galaxy Fireworks
Selstar Fireworks

Does anyone have good recommendations of the best hotels in Plymouth to stay in to see the shows, and whether there are boats that can be rented to watch from the water.

A good hotel could either be somewhere with an outdoor roof terrace, or just in walking distance of the best viewing points.

I've been to Plymouth a couple of times and got stuck in traffic afterwards

You can always stay in or near Plymstock (which is the other side of the harbour by the harbour wall where they fire the displays from)....when I worked with one of the teams last year we stayed at the Mount Batton Dive Centre right by the firing site, there is a hotel there as well with balconies that you could see the displays from (small hotel though), the advantage of being that side is that there is a ferry that goes back and forth to the centre of town quite regularly.

BTW Your list of teams is wrong. I know you did it in Feb but i don't believe Tunbridge Wells Fireworks are there.

I was with MLE last year .... and yes sadly we had a few problem :sad2: , but hey was a good crack I enjoyed myself.

Don't know what happened to Tunbridge Wells this was the list sent by the organisers back then....odd
