i don't think i like the way you use your firework:push:

do you have any idea what you can cause if something goes wrong if you ignite your shells in a bigger tube? and then you also adjust your launchpowder???!!!!

you should use it the way it is made for and nothing else..........

I haven't an idea???
We use usually this salutes. Sometimes bigger than this too.
And i can assure that i know very well what this can cause and i take all the cares in order to avoid any problem.
We shoot this babies with a very large safety distance. about 100-150 meters from the peoples.
As i said in many other posts , in Italy , we have another salutes culture. We want to hear very well the boom.
For this reason , we avoid to use chinese salutes because for us are shits...
bye

In Italy not...!!!
usually ,my neighbours say : "magnifico!!! Shoot again please"

Italy isn't German or nederland

However , i shoot this very far from peoples and houses. usually 100-150 meters from their

In the Netherlands neighbours also say wow.
The problem here is that a lot of shooters don't care or don't know the shooting safety distances.
They shoot in neighbour hoods with distances to the crowd of 25 to 50 meters.
That's why we react so furious cause we know the dangers.
I hope none of those idiots will use your idea!

In the following movie on you tube you can see what can go wrong with 5 inch titanium shell launched in 6 inch tubes, the first ones explode just above the three's and the last ones on the ground.

You touch the very big problem of the fireworks : the firework isn't dangerous! the persons are dangerous....When they use not correctly the stuffs.
You can use a 130mm italian salute in a 150mm tube but , for the safety , you must go at least to 150-200 meters from peoples , so , if something goes wrong , nobody will injuried.
it's very funny to make experiments but it's important to take the correct risks prevention.
In the video i don't understand nothing...However , if you are at an adeguate distance , a 130mm saluets that boom in the ground can cause only a big crater...

I agree with the first part; that fireworks are not dangerous, but the people who use them can cause the real danger.
You're one of those people who doesn't use fireworks in the way they are supposed to be used!
Adjusting the lift powder of such a big shell isn't very responsible!
Fireworks are only safe if they're used in the proper way.
But thats my opinion :amuse:

The fact that it ís a shell is also stupid. It hasn't to be a big shell:blink1:.

Imagine that this should go of on the ground, that would be a big disaster, and even bigger if there is public around it.

I'm partially in according to you. make this type of experiments it's indispensable in order to understand how a shell works. You keep in mind that you do this enough far from people and buildings. Every fireworks factory make usually experiments. :blink1:

disaster..? we are speaking about 1kg of flash not about 100kg of TNT...
If you are 30-40 meters from the point of explosion , you haven't any problem... believe me. We use these shells very often... :blink1:

There is one point I don't understand. Let me try to express this in proper English.
You say you adjust the amount of launchpowder and the size of the tube. As a result the shell will climb to a height of about 30-40 meters so people will hear a louder explosion. At the same time you also say you want the people to be 100-150 meters away. I question myself if it isn't less dangerous to lift the shell up to a height of 100 meters and let the crowd me 50 meters away.
My apologies if I state this wrong, I've never lanuched shells before nor am I planning to do this in the future.

haha that's a good reaction:bigsmile: I agree with your statement that if the shell explodes on the ground and you are 50 meters away you will cause nothing. I have it experienced by myself with a 4 inch pyroformex salute on 20 meters distance. I have to say the bang on this distance is incredible!

(ps my apologizes for my bad English but as you know I'm Dutch)

and it's better and more safe shoot a salute at 30 meters and stay at 100 meters than shoot at 100 meters and stay at 50.
it's a phsical and trigonometrical question.
I think you haven't some much experience , isn't it? :blink1:

Indeed,
Can we discuss about the 5 inch salutes instead of safety measures?

@ Exogen, can you tell us something about producing these salutes and maybe give some more info about them? like pictures and videos , that would be great.
