This one is indeed very weird!

The first "explosion" seems like it was caused by possibly a bag with 'fuel' (gasoline?) inside the figure. It really looks like a "low energy explosion" caused by one of the bags/bottles that are being placed inside. Maybe one of them had a leak, causing combustible fuel fumes inside the statue and when the traca reaches that closed of area, the fuel (fumes) ignite. I don't believe it was on purpose, because with that safety distance it would be too risky to have any parts flying off.

The second one seems to be a mailfunction of one of the "whistlers". Seems like there was a stand with those mounted onto them. You see (and hear) the quickfuse go off, but it seems that one of the "whistling-fountains" ignites incorrectly and blows up, after which the stand tips over and falls on its side. The pyrotechnic powder composition used for whistlers is often very powerfull and "aggressive" and burns very quick and produces a lot of gasses. It's not the first time that I've seen something with a whistle effect blow up.

These are my 2 guesses, but obviously not sure if these are correct.
I think you're exactly right about the two explosions ... so crazy!
