What a week:bigsmile::bigsmile::bigsmile:
My first & definatly not my last.

The best Mascleta for me was the one just after Falla 99.
Not sure who's it was?
It was the one with the Tremento under the metal roof.
Im still shaking now, or is it the DT's from all the wine & beer?
Has anyone got it on video?

Best night display:
Sunday night at the river bed.

Best memory:
Setting of borracho's in the cage followed by Bonfire prayers.

Best bar:
Now that would be telling

Thanks to all who made it a great week.

Cheers.

The layered one was the best for me, I thought my ear drums were going to burst during the final salvo - bring it on. But I don't think it was done by Falla 99, that was the long one just down the road that was fired around 5 mins before.

The Tremento was under the shelter at the back of the photo.
Not sure who fired it.
They origonaly said that they were going to fire it before Falla 99.
When we heard the one minute warning fired for Falla 99, we ran down the street just in time to see it go off.

Then a quick sprint back up the street to see the layered one.

Wow, two of the best in five minutes.

Hey Guys,

The Masclèta was shooten by an company from Granada. I doesn't remeber the name.

Good to remember this one for the next year. Maybey Vavoom remember the name of the company, otherwise a frend of him knows the name (Martin from Germany) He got an businesscard from the shooter.

Kind regards,

Guys this mascleta is totally different then the mascleta of Falla99. I think you cannot compare those because there is 3 times as much material used in the mascleta of Falla99 then in the other street.

Loud it was but dont forget that there are buildings very close on the mascleta that make the sound stronger!

Tony,
Falla 99 & the Mascleta we are talking about were fired on the same tree lined avenue only 5 minutes apart.
In my humble opinion this blew Falla 99 into the weeds.
As i don't own a video camera i was just hoping that someone had shot this piece of stunning pyrotechnica for the rest of the world to enjoy.

It certainly was a very good mascleta. The layered effect was quite interesting and meant everything was in view.
My camcorder was stolen the previous night at a street party, but I did manage to record some of it using my still camera, but it has this annoying habit of stoping recording after 2 mins, so I ended up missing the last 30 secs of it.
I think some of the other guys I was with managed to record it, I'll let you know if they post it.

I am intrigued now, the mascleta I am told was at Falla Azcarraga, and was fired by Pirotecnia Maria Angustias Perez of Guadix (Granada). There was clearly something very good that made it stand out, as a lot of those who make these comments are hardened professionals firers who have seen many mascletas….

I do agree with Tony in that the loudest mascletas can often be in the most confined spaces, one of the loudest I ever heard was perhaps the one I got closest to at Micer Masco….and those who were there will remember how the one in 2006 at Gaeta blew us away, both in small back streets. On the positive side it’s great that so many great mascletas happen away from the main square. Long may the get better and better!!!!

On a personal note Fallas 99 2007 is still the best mascleta I have seen to date....

Competition is a good thing!!!! Keeps everyone on their toes ;-)

I thought that compared with last year Falla99 was a bit of a disappointment. It seemed to lack the intensity of last year.

The layered one just up the road definitely blew it away and the finale under the tin roof was certainly a bit different!

Willie, sorry we didn't bump into you mate. We spent a lot of our drinking time in a little American bar who looked after us very well.

We got a bit peed off with the Black Sheep where the prices seemed to go up by the hour.

Glenn.

PS. Pompey Jon spent more time at the airport than he did in the City!!!!:cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:

I think this had a lot to do with the effectiveness of the layered mascleta, if you were close by, the sound stayed with you for the duration of the mascleta, it didn't travel towards you or away from you, it was just right there in your face for the entire mascleta. Whereas the Falla 99 mascleta is stretched out, so depending on where you are it will sound more intense at certain times.

Both were very good, but I was certainly more impressed with the Falla 99 from 2007 then this years version.
