„Silber-Meteoriten“ Cal. C with silver timerain crackling effect. 12 pieces per pack, 12 packs per display box. Cat. F1 – free to sell to children from 12 years the whole year!
We already made CE for this item in 2018, but since then were never able to get it produced the way I wanted. The big problem is that the EU in all their wisdom determined the safety distance for F1 to be 1m, which means no sparks etc are allowed to leave a radius of 1m. It´s a pity that they were obviously not at full capacity anymore with their usual tasks, such as handling their corruption and determining the permissable bend of bananas, so they had too much time and also implemented idiotic regulations for fireworks.
Anyways, as for the "Meteoriten", the biggest difficulty and biggest reason, why so many of those items on the market are absolutely shitty is not the sound level. For our tests, we made the crackling stars as loud as possible, and it was never more than 118dB at 1m, so always below the allowed 120dB. But the real problem is that, once the crackling is more strong, a bursting microstar shoots away the other microstars around it, which then sometimes burst outside of the 1m radius.
This is also the reason why most factories use really weak crackling for these items now, which sounds more like some burning wood than real crackling.
We adjusted for long time, and in my opinion found a point, at which the sound level is OK for F1, but at the same time the crackling stars don´t get thrown away too far.
Furthermore at this version with silver sparks also the silver sparks are not allowed to fly out of 1m, so we had to adjust a lot and could sadly only use very fine titanium with less strong silver sparks effect.
So I am quite happy with the item overall, although with a permissable safety distance of e.g. 2m a better result would have been possible.
The item here is Caliber C, the biggest size plannned for F1, with 2,5g powderweight per piece, so nice big ones as the old ones in the market many years ago.
Another size, cal. B, we have the CE, but won´t produce it, as 2 sizes (10mm and 14mm) should be enough in F1.
