i want to set off 4 cakes at a time. i will probably use extra fuse and tie them all together, but what should i use to stick the cake to the piece of wood? just regular glue?

Obviously the issue of fusing is viewed differently in some countries....in the UK you cannot adapt consumer fireworks fuses or add to them as this is a form of modification.

The safest way of firing multiple cakes is to stake them out as close as you can, stake out with a strong tape wrapped round them. If your firing off concrete then attaching to planks by the use of a strong glue is a good idea, they should be secured in some way. Have all the fuses as close as you can and hit them all with portfire or good blowtorch and you won't have to modify the fuses.

Yeah, sounds like you might need to be careful with connecting fuses depending on where you are. But if you're allowed to, sounds like yo'ure fine with your method of ignition.

As far as securing, i personally (and know a lot of guys) that use Liquid Nails...if you don't know what it is...basically just a really strong glue. This year i used both liquid nails and duct tape. Either or should be fine...cakes shouldn't go anywhere (just connect them to a board)
