Fireworks ignited by blaze in Stafford
Five people have been hurt as more than 40 firefighters tackle a blaze at a fireworks retailer in Staffordshire.
West Midlands Fire Service said people reporting the blaze said they could see and hear fireworks exploding.
Emergency crews were alerted to the fire in Tilcon Avenue, Stafford, shortly after 17:00 GMT, a spokesman said.
It is not clear how the fire started but residents are being urged to remain indoors and shut windows.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said two patients had been taken to the major trauma centre at University Hospital North Staffordshire.
One person has burns, the other is suffering from the effects of breathing in smoke.
Two other patients were checked and discharged at the scene and a fifth patient received minor injuries.
A cordon is in place around the scene to protect the public, Staffordshire Police said.
A number of roads in the area have been closed and police said officers are evacuating a number of businesses and homes in the area.
