People in the San Diego area gathered by the waterfront last night to watch the annual Fourth of July Firework Show. And if they blinked, they probably missed it.

The entire show, which was planned to last about 20 minutes, ignited at once, sending hundreds of fireworks into the air at the same time. The result? A giant yellow ball that burns for about 15 seconds. And then, the fourth of July is over.

According to CNN, the firework show was supposed to synchronized with patriotic music from artists like Lee Greenwood, Bruce Springsteen, and Taylor Swift, but the fireworks were over before the end of the first song.

A spectator told CNN:

“It shook the whole building. I thought it was a bomb or someone was shooting everybody… Car alarms, every kind of noise came on. It was really unexpected.”

The company responsible for the Big Bay Boom (now referred to as the Big Bay Bust) said that an unknown glitch caused the fireworks to go off all at once. The company is currently trying to find out exactly what went wrong.

By now you've probably heard about the Fourth of July fireworks display in San Diego, Calif., that was accidentally launched all at once last week. But you probably haven't seen it like this.A video, uploaded to YouTube by Dan W. Roy, shows the now-infamous "Big Bay Boom" up close and in high-definition from the shore of Glorietta Bay."This is insane," a witness can be heard saying during the pyrotechnical onslaught, as confused onlookers--in beach chairs and on blankets--point to the spectacular explosion in the sky."This is the best fireworks show ever!" says another.According to Garden State Fireworks, which produced the show, a signal that was sent to the barges to set the timing of the fireworks caused the entire show to be launched in about 15 seconds.Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Het schijnt dat er een extra programma per ongeluk verkeerd over de show heen is gedownload.
Deze file zorgt ervoor dat na de show je op een soort van all-fire drukt, zodat je alle eventueel volle mortieren nog leeg kunt schieten.

GLF en Fireone komen later waarschijnlijk nog met een vollediger statement.
Het kunnen ook nog een paar andere dingen geweest zijn, en ze zijn nog aan het onderzoeken.

Had het langs zien komen op facebook :) Kort maar krachtig showtje :p

Zal wel iets mis zijn gegaan met het testen van de schietboxen oid..
