Beach on Fire
The event of the summer attracting tens of thousands of onlookers to beaches of Cavallino Treporti with an amazing night time firework display with an attempt to enter the Guinness Book of Records.
Where: Cavallino Treporti beach, Venice
When: 25 August 2012
For years now, this has been the event of the summer, attracting tens of thousands of onlookers to the beaches of Cavallino Treporti. And right on time, this year too BEACH ON FIRE is back, the longest-lasting fireworks display in the world: Saturday 25 August from 22.30 get ready to experience sheer excitement.
For this display, the eighth, over six thousand, perfectlysynchronised fireworks will be set off from twelve locations along the coast's thirteen kilometres, creating a thrilling sequence of colour effects and interplay of shades in the sky.
Everyone, big and smoll, will be gazing upwards, touched by the magic of an event which has nothing to rival it in its field.
A masterpiece of craft and attention to detail is perhaps the best way to sum up Beach on Fire. But who exactly is responsible for this monk-like precision which ensures the fireworks are perfectly synchronised? The credit here, it has to be said, goes to the great Veneto specialist firms for whom Beach on Fire represents one of their finest achievements.
'The uniqueness of this display', they say 'lies in the fact that the fireworks are lit in one go, thanks to the one 'rule', which is at zero hour, all the fireworks at all the locations will be set off at the same time, creating a spectacle without equal. The other part to the evening which will stand out, but for quite different reasons, will be the attempt to create a 13 kilometre long 'ola', a real record'.
So, Guinness record numbers are going to turn up for a truly exhilarating show, full of novelty and surprise:new swt and colours, brighter and more resplendent than last time, but with lower noise levels to soften the environmental impact.
Here are the firing points for this year's Beach on Fire: Via Tirreno, Via del Granatiere, San'Angelo Campsite, Joker Campsite, Union Lido Campsite, Via Berton, Cavallino Campsite, Enzo Stella Maris Campsite, Mediterraneo Campsite, Fiori Campsite, Via Retrone, Marina di Venezia Campsite.
12 gesynchroniseerde vuurwerkshows over een totale lengte van 13 km.
