*Update* Wanzai County in Jiangxi plans to cut down the number of fireworks factories in their 5th Round of license renewals.
During the last round of license renewal, the goal was to reduce down to 448 factories. For the 5th round, Wanzai County will reduce to 170 factories, consisting of 78 fireworks factories, 75 firecracker factories, 12 fuse factories, 4 black powder factories and 1 smokeless powder factory. That is a reduction of fireworks-related factories by 60%.
Hunan and other counties in Jiangxi, are likely take the same steps to renew less and less fireworks factories' licenses as part of China's plan since 2010 to cut down the number of fireworks factories in China.
Attached table shows the number of factories in each province prior to 2010, the current number (based on 2017) and the target number.
