Verlichting Fallas 2023!

When do the illuminated streets of the Fallas 2023 in Valencia light up? Consult the schedules of the different commissions Valencia is already in Fallas. A new period of gunpowder, mascletaes, castles and many firecrackers. In all these traditions, one of the most anticipated events in the Fallas festivities cannot be missing: the turning on of lights. Thus, some of the main streets of Valencia will be illuminated from March 10 between 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. In the Cuba-Puerto Rico demarcation, the lights will be inaugurated on March 10 at 8:30 p.m., always accompanied by fireworks. While the Malvarrosa-Antonio Ponz-Cavite falla will continue this year alone with the light shows in its fallas demarcation. The inauguration of the lights will be on March 10 at 8:00 p.m. In the case of the Sueca lights, the inauguration of the Sueca-Literato Azorín falla will also take place on March 10, which is when the jury will make the official visit. Some commissions have stopped putting on this show, as is the case of some in Ruzafa, which have not done these musical shows at certain times for several years, because as so many people came to concentrate, in the end they were required to evacuate and even pay for the presence of an ambulance. Some of the Fallas that participate in category A are: - Falla Sueca – Literary Azorín - Falla Cuba-Literato Azorín - Falla Cuba – Puerto Rico - Falla Convento Jerusalén – Mathematician Marzal - Falla Malvarrosa–Ponz–Cavite There are two categories in the contest: Category A: which includes commissions that allocate a budget of €15,001 or more to decorative lighting. Category B: which includes those commissions that allocate a budget of up to €15,000 to decorative lighting. To give the prizes, a jury made up of 3 members is formed and is assigned by the Junta Central Fallera, one per category. For these 2023 Fallas, the category B jury will visit the commissions on Wednesday, March 8 and Thursday, March 9, 2023, starting at 8:00 p.m., and the category jury on Friday, March 10, 2023, always from 8:30 p.m.

The Malvarrosa falla continues alone with the calendar of light shows They will do 35 lighting passes from March 10 at 8:00 p.m. and on Saturdays they will do one every hour from 8:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. The Malvarrosa-Antonio Ponz-Cavite falla will continue this year alone with the light shows in its fallas demarcation. The Ruzafa commissions have not done these musical shows at certain times for several years, because as so many people came to gather, in the end they demanded evacuation routes and even paid for the presence of an ambulance. As the case of the Malvarrosa is different, because it is further from the center and has less concentration of people, they do go ahead with this proposal and in fact have programmed up to 35 shows. The inauguration of the lights will be on March 10 at 8:00 p.m. and that same day there will be more opportunities to see the play of lights and music at 8:20 p.m., 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. On both Saturday the 11th and the 18th, the shows will take place at 8:00 p.m., 9:00 p.m., 10:00 p.m., 11:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. From Sunday to Thursday, the last lighting with music will be at 10:00 p.m., to allow the neighborhood to rest, and on Friday the 17th it will last until 11:00 p.m. Regarding the turn of lighting on the day scheduled for the inauguration in all demarcations, on March 10, at 8:00 p.m. Malvarrosa will begin and, foreseeably, Sueca-Literato Azorín, will present its lights at 8:00 p.m. with the countdown and music only. for that opening day. The Cuba-Puerto Rico turn will be at 8:30 p.m. and at 9:00 p.m. it will also foreseeably be the inauguration of Cuba-Literato Azorín. Regarding the design of the Malvarrosa falla, for the third year they have the company Iluminaciones Plaza (Salamanca). The installation has the motto 'Mágika' and there will be a main portal where lights and large audiovisual screens are combined. Last year, for example, images of ninots from the big falla of this commission were included in the design. This year will be a surprise. In addition there will be 14 arches spread over 140 meters of street. The portal is a triptych, like an altarpiece, whose central body is 12.8 meters wide and 14 meters high and the side panels are 11 meters high. You will be able to see 45 LED thread motifs or figures and 9,600 RGB LEDs that dress the structure of plinths, wrought iron, cartouches and crests, topping it all off with the shield of the falla. On the other hand, visitors will be able to contemplate three individual elements of floral motifs for each arch that, together with the main doorway, will perform a synchronized choreography of colours, light and sound.

Ik zag dat mijn Falla/Commissie haar verlichting gisteren al voor het eerst aan heeft gezet.

Helaas doen we , zoals een aantal jaar geleden 1(?) keer het geval was, niet meer mee in de hoogste categorie (van boven de € 15.000,- budget), waar we tegen (vrijwel) alle anderen toch geen echte kans hadden! (Falla Sueca - Literato Azorin, Falla Cuba - Literato Azorin, Falla Cuba - Puerto Rico en Falla Malvarossa zitten voor zover ik weet allemaal DIK boven die € 15K, terwijl wij in dat ene(?) jaar dacht ik niet al te ver boven dat "vanaf budget" zaten.

We zitten nu weer op de lijn die we in het verleden eigenlijk altijd hadden m.b.t. de soort en hoeveelheid verlichting. Wel jammer, want zeker de 'voorportalen' waren o.a. in 2019 toch echt wel een stuk indrukwekkender!

Het "nadeel" (al dan niet "bewust zelf voor gekozen") is dat onze Falla gezien zijn locatie haar verlichting over een totale afstand van (grofweg) 700 meter heeft hangen en je daarom ook meer licht "borden" hebt hangen (maar waarschijnlijk ook iets meer tussenafstand onderling).

Ik heb via Google Maps even onderstaand kaartje gemaakt (en daarvoor ook even nagemeten) en afgaande op onderstaande afbeelding, zie je dat er in Calle Cadiz ongeveer 220-230 meter aan verlichting en in Calle Centelles ongeveer 470-480 meter.



EDIT: Helaas staat de "uploader" van FPM geen hoge(re) resolutie afbeeldingen toe (voor afbeeldingen rechtstreeks in een topic), maar ik denk dat de meeste het wel kunnen begrepen. (Anders kan ik hem nog in hogere resolutie uploaden in het Album hier op FPM)

Even ter aanvulling: de LED's in het 'voorportaal' van Falla Cuba - Literato Azorin zijn voor een groot deel programmeerbaar/aanstuurbaar en kunnen dus verschillende teksten/afbeeldingen laten zien. Die 'ene foto' hierboven is dus maar één van de mogelijkheden hoe het er uit kan zien.
