Ultimate fireworks screensaver

I just read a message from Kyle Kepley (yep, from Passfire.com) in which he wrote that there is a Showsim screensaver available. Although it's also an advertisement for Showsim, it's supposed to be pretty good. That's why I thought it would be nice if I shared the info with you.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Get the best fireworks screensaver ever created... FREE!

For PCs only, running XP or Vista. A graphics accellerator card is
requried for the high quality graphics, otherwise it won't look as
nice.

www.showsim.com/showsim/downloads/screensaver/setup.exe

Just run the setup file rather than saving it locally, it's designed
to work that way. There's an annoying DirectX update you have to sit
through, then after that it goes pretty fast.

Right now it cycles through three show settings, but more will be
added later which can be downloaded into the screensaver over the
internet. You can also add or remove shows from a playlist, turn
sounds on or off and control the firing rate. Over 1300 simulated
effects are used to create the shows, which were developed for the
ShowSim choreography software widely used by the display industry.
The simulator used in this screen saver is actually the same one used
in ShowSim, so years of work have gone into its refinement!"

Thanks Vavooom, I also installed this directly after seeing it advertised on rec.pyro - but after installing I could not find it anywhere on my PC/system... OK, people say I am not a computer-expert... But would someone have any tips on where exactly the active part of software is placed?

Thank you!

PS: Translated for Meggsy & all the other English speaking. (Whoops & then I saw Son-T's post... Too late! ;) )

OK I can see there is a possible issue about advertising here...well I think that's what Babelfish is saying any chance in English please...my knowledge of Dutch you could write on the back of a very small stamp in very large letters as they say....

Thanks ;-)

I downloaded this too, and after installing it, just go to your desktop properties and then the Screensaver tab, in there you should be able to select it as a screensaver.
It cycles through three different displays, and the adds are not too annoying.

Thanks Alan, I found it, watched it now shortly, and it works great. Much appreciated. The simulations of effects seem reasonable. I also downloaded an wmv of a simulation of the Athens Olympics fireworks show, made by Alberto Navarro with his software "Show Director" but in lasting memory those effects were less real. What do you guys think is the best simulation of effects?
