Rozzi's Famous Fireworks will leave its longtime home in Symmes Township for a new headquarters in Clinton County.

The township, in a posting on its Web site, said it is planning to buy the 51 acres Rozzi's currently occupies on Lebanon Road to create athletic fields and recreational space. Trustees voted to place a 0.9 mill levy on the May ballot to generate funding for the land purchase and project.

Rozzi's, which operates as Tri-State Manufacturing Co., plans to move to its new facility in 2009. If the township is unable to buy the land, the company said it will ask for the property to be rezoned for commercial development and possibly seek annexation to the city of Loveland, according to the Web posting.

The family-owned fireworks company, founded in 1895, is well-known for its pyrotechnics displays, and locally for its annual Riverfest show, featuring fireworks synchronized to music provided by WEBN-FM.

Rozzi's also owns a distribution warehouse on 110 acres in Wilmington, and a research and development facility in Delanson, N.Y
