The pyrotechnician receives the 'Maliller de l'any' award from the Malilla-Isla Cabrera Race commission

Ricardo Caballer receiving the 'Maliller de l'any'.

Valencia will miss Ricardo Caballer ; Las Fallas, more of the same, for having strengthened that sector so loved sentimentally and feared by the bureaucracy. But if in the cap i casal there is a commission that will notice the void left by Ricardo Caballer even more, it is, without a doubt, the Falla Carrera Malilla-Isla Cabrera. The Quatre Carreres sector commission held this Friday the first edition of the 'Maliller de l'any' awards, an award that has been decided to be given to Ricardo Caballer for his farewell after "more than 20 years" shooting in the commission. The pyrotechnician has not cut himself, he has never done so, leaving a farewell speech full of emotion: "Thank you for loving the party so much, because if it were up to others, everything would be more complicated."

The recognition has been unanimous on the part of Malilla-Isla CabrerCarrera towards the pyrotechnician who has fired in said demarcation for many years. "I already came here with my father, when he was 17 years old," Ricardo Caballer commented in his speech after receiving the award.

The gunpowder professional announced months ago that given the current circumstances, they would stop firing any more fireworks show in Valencia and throughout the national territory , only respecting all that contract signed prior to such an important announcement. So these Fallas 2023 will be the last in which Ricardo Caballer makes a neighborhood falla enjoy, because in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento it is not part of the mascletaes program and neither is it the castles program, which has a new location.

The Malilla-Isla Cabrera race will be the place of Ricardo Caballer's farewell, although in this regard the pyrotechnician wanted the return door not to be completely bricked up, noting that the decision not to shoot again is "for the moment." Which had been preceded by a certain message to the institutions. Addressing the falleros, he has thanked them "for wanting the party, for wanting it to continue, because if it were up to others everything would be more complicated, for all the problems and obstacles that have been placed on you in recent years."

During the speech towards the components of the Quatre Carreres fault, Caballer recalled anecdotes and experiences, before wishing "that it would not rain" during the Fallas. This is how Caballer has said goodbye to 'his' failure of him and, therefore, of all the fallas commissions. Until further notice, Valencia and the party lose the maestro who made the fallera Valencia dream with gunpowder.

Catalá advocates creating a Museum of Fallas in the Post Office building

The PP spokeswoman meets with representatives of the Fallas in a country house to finalize the electoral program of celebrations

The spokesperson for the PP in the Valencia City Council and candidate for Mayor, María José Catalá, has finalized her electoral program dedicated to the Fallas section in a meeting with a broad representation of fallas.

Catalá has held a meeting at the Obispo Amigó mansion with representatives of the Fallas and has announced that one of the proposals that he collects from the Fallas and that he wants to promote is that the Palacio de las Comunicaciones building, that is, the old Post Office building located in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, it can be converted into a Museum of Fallas as already announced.

"It is a benchmark space for the Fallas festival with a permanent exhibition, which, hand in hand with technology, shows how a mascletà is lived", he commented.

It also proposes an increase in the budget of the department of the party area, in line "with the real needs of a party that has grown over the years and whose economic needs require updating," he pointed out.

He also pointed out that "we must continue advancing in the Fallas, we have spent many years in which the party has been politicized and it is time for the fallas to be the ones who mark the lines to improve the party," said María José Catalá.

«The Fallas are our main festival, they are our distinctive sign, they have been declared Intangible Heritage of Humanity and we must take care of them and protect them, that is why it will be the Fallas themselves, people who know the festival from within, who will star in this part of my electoral program. », added Catalá.

Another of the proposals of the electoral program of María José Catalá is the creation of a single municipal window "because the Fallas commissions must also benefit from an agile, efficient and modern administration," he added. And she has added that in this way "the processing of licenses and authorizations will be expedited because the Fallera Central Board and the municipal services will be at the service of their falleros to help them manage all the procedures and doubts efficiently and quickly."

Finally, it advocates promoting the modification of the Patronage Law in order to try to obtain more resources from the private initiative aimed at sponsoring the Fallas festival, which have the recognition of Unesco Intangible Heritage, « which should be an incentive to invest in the party and obtain tax advantages", he concluded.

Just my 2 cents.....
