BOISE -- A federal judge in Boise has ordered a Pocatello company to stop selling chemicals and other items used to make illegal fireworks.

U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill entered a permanent injunction against Web retailer Firefox Enterprises Inc.

The injunction prevents the company and its owners from selling the materials, imposes strict record keeping requirements, and authorizes surprise inspections of the company's facilities.

Nancy Nord, acting chairman of the Consumer Product Safety Commission, says the ruling is a victory for consumer safety, because too many injuries and deaths occur from illegal fireworks.

In his ruling on Monday, Winmill said the company violated the Federal Hazardous Substances Act and the Department of Transportation's hazardous materials regulations.
