Re: is how the maltese write letters?

I put the image in the first post. Correct me if it's not the right one.

Considering the name of this thread, my guess is he wants to know if this is the way the Maltese make letters using fireworks, if not; How do they display letters?

But some background information about the picture shown is welcome :blink1:

i don't think that's how they do them but it is possible! i don't think so because if you look at the video the letter seems to come out from the ground goin up!

What video?

I haven't got a clue which video belongs to this photo he posted...

But when you look closely to the picture, you can see that those pieces of firework are attached to a steel frame.

I also don't know exactly what type of firework you see at the photo, anyone?

Re: is how the maltese write letters?

I think he is talking about the show that the St Mary fireworks factory from Mqabba fired at the Caput Lucis 2007 competition. They had the word MALTA written in fireworks. ( good english?) That was a awesome show and also the winning show. I can't find the show online, it was on their website a few months ago.

But this is probably one way to show letters but there is another way.
The Italian compay Orzella fireworks fired a show at the competition of Tarragona 2007. They spelled the word ORZELLA with 6" (150mm) watershells hanging from a cable above the water.

Just take a look at this picture, I think that is a awesome effect!!!

They are pattern shells, just fired differently...

Differently-could that mean simply sitting on a flat surface, no lift charge etc?

Pardon my ignorance but do you know the method first hand?

But they do appear to rise from the ground like mines or from candles.

I have witnessed testing of these shells in 3 different ways. 1 of them was half ball shell the others were full ball shell. All pattern shells. All 3 of them were fired differently and all worked satisfactionally. But I cant give much more info sorry.

I heard from pyro's who have seen this in Taragonna by Orzella that they fired shells from there mortars but the burst was directly about the mortar. Indeed they used patern shells.

Spot on! Tony :amuse:

But still there are other ways which work well as much.

We dont do these shells since our firing fields are in a valley and below spectators level.

when you fire effects that form a letter, figure or any objects they are all called "pattern effects or shells" simply because they do a pattern effect of a certain object...they just use their creativity on how they would fire this shells so it would turn out nice to see...use your imagination and creativity and you could turn a simple effect into a very complicated look effect...
