I'm learning Dutch atm but still suck at it so pardon me for writing in English (mijn woordenschat is nog wel te klein...)
The usual place for Germans to buy consumer fireworks are large discounter chains like Lidl, Aldi, Norma, Plus and smaller supermarkets like Rewe, Schlecker or Penny. These shops carry standard firework sets (rockets, bangers, fontains, etc.) and cakes from Weco, Nico, Keller and Comet, as well as cracker packs (sloffen) in six common sizes, ranging from Pyrocracker (smaller than a Shising rotje) over sizes A/B/D to Superböller I and II, the most common size is D (Chinaböller D). There also is a C size by Keller, the Keller Chinaböller C, which contains about 3g of black powder is considered to be the best cylindric china cracker available over here.
We also have a few small cracker strings/knalmats, like the 40er Ladykracher (mats of 40 tiny crackers in packs of ten), 20er Paketkracher (slightly larger mats with 20 shots) and the Keller Hasta La Vista chain with 200 shots (new this year)... but don't expect too much, even your blackpowder celebration crackers are better than them.
Then there are the cubic bangs someone already mentioned in this thread, as well as the large red Weco Kanonenschlag that get sold in boxes of 3 for about €2 per box. All these types of bangers can be found at Lidl and Aldi.
Currently the best ( = loudest) legal bangers are the Weco Kanonenschlag, Keller Cubic Thunder, Nico Kubischer Kanonenschlag C and of course Weco's Kubischer Kanonenschlag that gets sold in packs of 3 or 6. The Keller Cubic Thunder is the most expensive of all the cubic bangs, a pack of 3 costs about €2,50. Some say that they're louder than the other cubic bangers from Weco or Nico, haven't tested them myself so I can't comment on that.
Other than that, we sadly don't have really loud bangers anymore since some laws had been changed in 1998. Flash crackers are illegal, just like the ever-so-popular knalpatroonen, you need a license to buy them and even if you have one, it still is illegal to use that stuff for purposes of entertainment. Originally, knalpatroonen were designed to scare away birds from airports, fish ponds and vineyards (that's why they're called "Vogelschreck" over here) but not for consumer fireworks.
Cakes are very cheap over here. Weco is dominating this segment of the market since years, most firework fans agree that they make the best cakes available. The allowed net explosive weight has been risen to 500g per box last year but the most common net is 200g. Knalcakes are not allowed. Check out the Weco homepage for more details and videos:

That's because all self-propelled firework effects like rockets or rocket projectiles come within the law of the German aviation authority and they categorically refuse to do anything about the measly max. 10g effect + max. 10g propellant rule since decades.
However, the aforementioned Zink rockets have very nice effects, it's just not that easy to find them. Roeder Feuerwerk has them, as well as lots of online shops and a few speciality dealers but you will never find them in supermarkets.
Other than that, the Weco Made in Germany rockets (available at any major discounter/supermarket) are very popular, they don't fly very high but have nice and colorful effects and a juicy burst bang.
als ik 29 december naar duitsland ga is er dan nog vuurwerk in de lidl, aldi of e-markt te koop? ik ga niet precies over de grens kopen maar in scharrelerdamm (saterland), vlakbij het centrum/dorp oldenburg). ik verblijf bij familie die daar woont.

Yes there is, the official firework sales start on Dec. 29th and end at noon on Dec. 31st so the 29th is the first day of sale and all supermarkets will be packed full of the good stuff!
If anyone wants to know more, I'm open for questions!
