For the 54th year in a row, a mouth-watering traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings will be served at the Port Sydney Community Hall on Saturday, September 30.

Titled ‘A Community Thanksgiving,’ the Port Sydney Parks and Recreation volunteer committee is hosting the dinner and expects to feed approximately 1,000 people. There will be continuous dinner seatings from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. The cost to attend is $13 for adults and $6 for children 12 years old and under.

At dusk, a phenomenal fireworks display will be put on by the talented Jamie Adamson. Toll booths, run by the Stephenson Lions Club, will be set up to collect donations to help offset the cost of the fireworks. The committee is suggesting $5 donations per person or $20 per family.

The event is a time-honoured tradition by many families in the Muskoka area and beyond. The fireworks make the evening extra special and many family ‘get-togethers’ are planned around the annual event.

Over 200 people volunteer their time and skills to ensure a successful turkey dinner and fireworks.

All proceeds from the event will be directed to upgrades needed to the hall.
