Post van Falla Obispo Amigo - Cuenca op facebook:

Falla Obispo Amigó-Cuenca

The Cuba-Literato Azorín fault will not make these Fallas light show. This was announced in writing three days ago the presidency of the entity to the Department of Culture Festiva. This decision was announced today at the Security Council of Fallas, since the mayor Joan Ribó, has had to modify the plan and after this resignation will eliminate the evacuation measures that had been planned in Ruzafa.

So, no Ruzafa fault will make a show and it will be only the Malvarrosa-Ponz-Cavite commission that maintains it.

On this controversy, the president of Cuba, José Juan Giménez, has simply said that "we asked the City Council a question, specifically if we were going to have the same security measures as the other Ruzafa faults, that is to say none, if not it was a show and we are still waiting for an answer ».

And the question of whether or not they will do show says that "depends on the response of the City Council." And it does not clarify whether they will light lights even if they do not make a show.

On the other hand, the Councilor for Citizen Protection, Anaïs Menguzzato, makes it clear that "they were told that if they did a light show, they would have to have a security plan. We even gave them a choice between two options and opted for one, there is a writing that supports it. " And he adds that «this week they have sent a document refusing to make the show and that's why the plan has been modified. To be clear".

Now it will be necessary to see if they put lights and where they will ask for the area of activities, something that they will have to study with Festive Culture and Public Domain.

Metrovalencia will provide a 24 hour service from 15th to 20th March for Fallas and certain stations will be CLOSED 2 hours before the Mascletà in Plaza Del Ayuntamiento and for the evening displays at Alameda...

The operation will run from the night of Friday 15th March until the early morning on the 20th March after La Cremà.

The novelty of this year will be the increase in service the two previous weekends with the new night meter.
The Local Board meets at the Town Hall to outline aspects related to party safety.

The València metro, like the Municipal Transport Company (EMT), will offer uninterrupted service during the big days of Fallas, specifically from the night of Friday 15th March until the early morning of the 20th.
The operation, similar to that of previous years, will contemplate the circulation during all those days with working hours, which offer better frequencies of transport.

This year, when the night service for the first time on weekends and on the eve of a public holiday works, there will be more services, since in previous years there were only extensions until 1.00 or 2.00am in the morning. With the new night meter, trains will run until 2.30-3.00am on the weekends before the final week of Fallas.

The activation of the metro 24 hours from March 15th to 20th has been one of the issues addressed in the Local Board of Citizen Security held this Wednesday in the City of Valencia.

In the meeting the decision of the Cuba-Literato Azorín fault was also communicated of no lighting the lights in Ruzafa, which will oblige the Consistory to modify the fallero side to change the security measures in view of the large influx planned for the Ruzafa neighborhood. Among them, the closing of the pedestrian underpass in the Germanías area.

Also, neither the tunnel nor the Bailén metro station will be closed this year.
On the other hand, those of Xátiva and Colón will be closed for the mascletà from March 16th to 19th March and that of Alameda two hours before the evening displays on the 16th, 17th and 18th.

"Things are going to come out very well, I want to convey to all the Valencians and the people who are coming that they will be safe Fallas, like every year," said Ribó.

The delegate of the Government, Juan Carlos Fulgencio, has said that the "maximum coordination" will be given between "all the security forces" to guarantee "safe parties".

Finally, as a reminder, don’t forget that EMT bus service will be issuing an UNLIMITED travel card for the dates of 15th to 19th March for 10€ and this will be available from 8th March.

Korte samenvatting: Openbaarvervoer

Colón and Ruzafa, cut by the first mascletà of Fallas

cortes-calles-mascleta-kCd-U70791488051VdH-624x385@Las%20Provincias.jpg

The start of the festive events tests traffic management in the Valencial center

Today is the day of the first test. The local police has already cut the streets Colón and Ruzafa, and then continue with the whole device. The Consistory will close the traffic in the central part of the city due to the mask that will be fired in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento at 2:00 p.m.

Three quarters of an hour before the first shot shot of the fine, the German Grand Vía and the registration in the traffic jam and in the Catholic starting the first retentions. The local police have also cut the royal bridge in the direction of the entrance to the center due to the complications in the marginality of the old channel.

The perimeter of the traffic court will be delimited by Colón and Xàtiva streets to continue along Avenida del Oeste, Avenida María Cristina and Calle de la Paz, to follow the Palanca Roundabout to the Colón de Nuevo.

Thus, there will be five main places with traffic cuts: Plaza Tetuán, Colón street, Ruzafa (corner with the Gran Vía Marqués del Turia), San Vicente at the height of Xàtiva, and Guillem Sorolla street, in its meeting with Avenida del West.

The streets remained within the perimeter of the vehicles and emergency vehicles. The Local Police will reinforce the zones for the detours, such as the Plaza de Tetuán, the Gran Vía Marqués del Turia corner with Ruzafa and the San Vicente Mártir street.

Ruzafa will continue to illuminate the sky with Fallas decorative lights, but no lighting show will be made. And it is that the Cuba-Literato Azorín fault has decided to give up doing the show.

Thus, after 13 years, Ruzafa puts an end to the spectacles of the ignition, an activity that started in 2005 Sueca-Literato Azorín and that managed to add from 2010 to the past Fallas to neighboring Cuba.

The only Falla that will make these festivities fireworks will be Malvarrosa-Antonio Ponz-Cavite, collective that does not require an evacuation plan to not foresee the influx of more than 5,000 people.

Although in previous months the president of Cuba-L. Azorín, José Juan Giménez, had already been saying that if the security measures were like those of the previous exercise they could not continue with the ignitions, it is now that the resignation has become effective officially.

In a letter submitted by the chairmanship of the commission to the Department of Culture Festiva dated 19 February, the resignation is confirmed, that yes at no time it says that they will not set the lights. In fact, the foreseeable thing is that they do, and apparently, it will not be with the same Italian firm.

The letter was received once the security plan for Fallas had been made, a report that already contemplated the resignation of Sueca-Literato Azorín from the beginning, but that now will have to be changed by the decision of Cuba.

In the City Council indicate that they received this letter with surprise because the device was already clear, but now we will have to make changes, since there are no evacuation and emergency zones in the demarcation of Cuba, other measures of the side of Fallas are modified.

Among the modifications that will be made is that the innkeepers will no longer have to raise the tables and chairs of the terraces before the lighting because there will be no passes at different times. As indicated yesterday by the Councilor for Citizen Protection, Anaïs Menguzzato, "this change will mean that the Gemanías tunnel will not be closed either because there will not be that concentration in the hours of ignition". Cuts will not be made unless agglomerations are recorded promptly.

Another change will refer to the deployment of troops. Until last year, there were fifty local police officers, National Police, Firemen and members of Civil Protection and now they will continue to be vigilant, but it will not take as much deployment.

In the letter sent by the board of directors of Cuba it is detailed that "in view of the regulations that appear in the Bando de Fallas of 2019 recently published, the fault has decided not to carry out lighting shows on our streets". And they consider unaffordable new measures such as the requirement of an ambulance at the cost of the commission.

In this same document they state that "it is not foreseeable that the concentrations of persons referred to by the Bando may occur, so that the demarcation of our fault will be identical to that of neighboring fallas commissions." And immediately, they ask that the requests for areas of activities and the location of posts they had submitted be taken into account so that they adapt to the new approach.

Menguzzato wanted to make clear yesterday that this decision came as a surprise because "we have been negotiating with all the faults of Ruzafa that enter the contest of lights. At first, Cuba said it was still with the light show and we proposed two options of measures to apply in its demarcation. He chose formally, that is, in writing one of them that is the one that was collected at the Civil Protection meeting last week. And it was recently when they have declined to do the show. "

Both the brief filed by the failure, and the information provided by the City Council contrasts with the response of the president of Cuba on this controversy, as it only says that "we had raised a question with the City Council, specifically if we were going to have the same security measures that the rest of Ruzafa failures, that is to say no, if we did not show and we are waiting for the answer ».

For his part, the mayor of Cultura Festiva, Pere Fuset, on social networks said yesterday that the security measures that had been planned "had been agreed at various meetings with the Cuba failure." "After the publication of the side, which picked the option chosen by the commission, his representative has submitted an instance announcing that he would not make shows and asking that they change provisions of the side to better locate their market." And Fuset concludes that "I do not know if the people of the committee knew both the security option chosen by its president and the request to resign". And he recognizes that "the businesses, commission and neighbors will not have the security restrictions of a massive spectacle."

New course for the Sueca lights

The commission will not put gates and will start from the plaza de la plantà | The inauguration without a show will be on the 8th at eight o'clock in the afternoon, but an hour before the music will be played that was played in previous editions

The lights of Ruzafa take a new direction and the commissions that compete in the first division have opted for projects that continue to be a claim for visitors, but do not leave trapped to falleros and neighbors between evacuation routes and asphyxiating security measures .

One of the fallas that has decided to change the 'chip' is Sueca-Literato Azorín and as indicated last night in the presentation of the design, in this edition there will be no large gates, but the brightness will be distributed in a total of 40 arcs.

It goes from large models that always sought to make record, to designs that are also striking, but that do not create barriers. The budget will be around 35,000 euros. «In 2016 we stopped being with an Italian company to return to Ximénez and start the change. Last year in the second section from Sueca to Centelles, lights were not put on because the evacuation route was on and this year we do not do the show and we will focus our efforts on the lights, "explains Abel Navarro, Swedish media delegates.

The official opening will be on March 8, at 8:00 p.m. Of course, there will be no light show, that is, passes with music throughout the night. In return, what is planned to do an hour before (19 hours) is to play ambient music in the demarcation. And people are invited to stand in the surroundings of the square where they plant to see the set of arches. «The idea is to remember some of the soundtracks that we have used in previous editions, since 2005, to accompany the light shows. You can hear pieces of 'Titans de Vangelis, which we used in 2007; 'Forrest Gump' in 2009 or 'Viva la vida' by Coldplay, 2012 ».

There will be 28,676 points of led light and in the motifs with spheres there will be rock crystals, like transparent acrylic diamonds to achieve glowing effects.

The fault that is pending to make a decision is that of Cuba-Literato Azorín, whose board had a meeting last night to decide first whether or not to light lights and what company will do it if approved. The president of the commission regretted these days that they can not make a show for the measures included already last year. As a curious fact, yesterday there were still no operatives working in the assembly of Sueca or Cuba, when other years were already very advanced because the pieces were of great volume.

Where the advanced assemblies are is in Cuba-Puerto Rico and Cádiz-Los Centelles. In the first case, they bet on a tribute to the Central Park with 31 trees. The ignition will be done at 20.30 with previous fireworks. In Cádiz-Los Centelles the inauguration will be at 9:00 p.m. Malvarrosa is the only one that keeps the light show and it will be also the 8th at 8 o'clock.

Comunicat dels nostres companys artistes fallers of the Special Section of Valencia:

"14 meters, it does not take more to win.

Above all, we want to make it clear that we recognize and appreciate the effort of the Fallas commissions when it comes to getting their budgets.

Although it is known the precarious situation that the sector is experiencing and the precariousness through which the trade passes, with many workshops that cease their activity and close each year, we have never reached any agreement.

After years of unsuccessful meetings and attempts of agreement, on this occasion convened by the Federation of Falleros Artists' Guilds, eight of the nine Special artists gathered agree that the ideal measure of a Special Falla is 14 meters, taking as reference the last winning Falla. 14 meters, it does not take more to win.

Seeking in this way a start of solution to the job precariousness of the trade, for the continuity of the workshops for future generations, in pursuit of the sustainability of the trade and the Fiesta.

We are pleased to see that eight artists have agreed to break a spear for the future of our activity. The decision is thought out and studied and agreed by 8 professionals with a long career, hoping that it will serve as a starting point.

Being open to any kind of clarification trying to avoid alarmist headlines for the sake of the Fiesta.

Gathered in Valencia on July 4, 2019 Vicente Martínez, Pere Baenas, Vicente Llacer, Manuel Algarra, Sergio Musoles, Carlos Carsí, David Sánchez and Mario Gual.

And with the support of the Federation of Associations of the Valencian Community and thanking the support we have received for our eight commissions of the Federation of Special Fallas. "

Vertaling (Google Translate):
OFFICIAL COMMUNICATE

The Federation of Fallas de 1ª A wishes to express its total rejection of the inclusion and appropriation of the Fallas and their elements, as part of the “Focs festius als Països Catalans” in an itinerant exhibition of the Ethnological Museum of the cultures of the world of Barcelona.

We want to remember that the Fallas festival, a big party in the city of Valencia and one of the most important and massive in the Valencian Community, was recognized as Intangible Heritage of Humanity in 2016, so we urge the relevant authorities to reverse actively the statements exhibited in said exhibition.

In Valencia on March 6, 2020.

The Fallas stop again 80 years later

The party, which has been held continuously since 1940, suffered five previous cancellations

The 2020 Fallas will go down in history as they are the first to be suspended in 80 years. Beyond the measures taken to alleviate the economic and emotional impact (the celebration later of the celebrations), the party has not missed its appointment since 1940, when they resumed after the Civil War.

Precisely, the years of 1937, 1938 and 1939 were the last in which they were not officially celebrated, since there were, there were fallas in the city. Not as a celebration, but as an antifascist complaint. In 1940 a few fallas were planted as a sign of the resumption of a certain normality.

The Valencia Fallas have been suspended twice more due to force majeure. But for that we must move to the nineteenth century, when the party was in the process of growth but, not far, had a thousandth of the social and economic impact that today.

The one of 1886 is remembered as the year of the "Fallas Strike", in which the municipal rate for planting fails (that there was it) was 36 cents of the then, 60 pesetas of the last century. An unassuming amount for the popular classes that supported the party. If only one falla was planted the previous year, it must be concluded that the party was about to disappear because of the arbitration. By not collecting anything with that measure, the following year it was reduced to 6 cents at the time and increased the number of failures to 29.

And another cause of force majeure was the "no Fallas" of 1896 when, after a Republican demonstration plagued with incidents, the Captaincy General declared the State of War on March 15. The Fallas were, as Enric Soler and Godes says, fully prepared. But the decision remained. Antonio Ariño revises in the History of the Faults of Levante-EMV that this was, in rebound, a way to suppress an uncomfortable party.

An attempt was made to recover the party - the eleven prepared fallas - coinciding with San Vicente, but the mayor said they were nones. That year there were no fallas in the city. But the seed was already deeply rooted.

Suspension of acts in 2004
In the memory the suspension of four days after the attacks of 11-M in 2004 lasts. There were no celebrations and only continued working in the «plantà». He wanted the caprice of the calendar that the 20th and 21st were weekend. At the end of the festivities, these dates were used to rescue some celebrations, in what was an atypical «post fallas»: two «mascletaes» were celebrated, the Tribute of the Armed Forces, the Fallera Gala, a castle and even the Verbenas of the Prefallas They moved to the night of the 20th.

After the flood there were failures
The "fallas of the Riada" were celebrated despite the fact that, just five months before, the city had been razed. They were much more modest fallas, as is easy to imagine, but they took place. Moreover, the falla of the then Plaza del Caudillo had as its motto the thanks to the rest of the regions for their help.

"It will take three or four days of Offering to adapt it to the thermometer"

Guillermo Serrano, president of the Fallas Intergroup of Valencia, affirms that the planted fallas would have had an effect called by visitors from Madrid or Italy "and that has weighed on the decisions"

Guillermo Serrano, president of the Intergroup, is one of the interlocutors between the fallas and the authorities. Now they have had to negotiate and deal with an unexpected bull: the coronavirus.

-How many hours without sleep and how many meetings?

-On the first day we did not sleep, and these days we have rested very little. We have had four intensive meetings, but we are in permanent contact to resolve issues.

-What doubts did you convey to Councilor Carlos Galiana?

-The doubt was that there were only two possible scenarios, suspension and cancellation. Both had problems, because nobody would have wanted to celebrate the Fallas in July, but we have seen, for example, that the USA. USA It has closed all its airspace for 30 days, something that has to show us that here in Valencia, fortunately for our climate, it is more controlled, but it could get out of control. The measure is not that you like, but I think it is quite consistent.

"Should the decision have been made before?"

-We would have liked it to have been decided earlier because if there were no fallas on the street, the impact would have been less. There are very disadvantaged commissions, but we must look forward to all and cast a cable to these fallas in the possible problems that may have arisen from planting the falla. In addition to Exposicón, Cuba, Sueca, Na Jordana and the municipal falla there is also San Marcelino or Doctor Olóriz.

-People comment that it is not clear about parading in the Offering at four in the afternoon. What have they proposed?

-The idea is to trace the Fallas in July, but this month has an obvious connotation that no one escapes. Just like few people fancy chocolate with churros in July and I suppose it can be changed to horchata. There are certain things that are going to have to change. There will be three or four days of Offering. Between now and July there will be many meetings. If the Board counts on us, they will have us. There is the example of the sister party in Alicante. They are not so many people, but the temperature is similar and theirs is to study the way to get one more day and start at 18 or 19 hours to mitigate the midday heat. In any case, they are proposals and it is about adapting the party to the thermometer.

-There were those who thought that it was better to join the Offering with the Virgin.

-It is missing to see how long the focus lasts. It remains to be seen if it affects Easter, the Virgin or the altars. We are all in an ay.

-Do you advocate more for burning the falla or doing the 'displantà'?

-As in July there will be fallas again, I would try to save everything possible and have their falla in the square. I understand that it is a difficult and expensive task and that is where we have to work, although there are pieces, such as those of the City Council, which is not feasible.

-Have you asked that there be no prizes in July?

-What has been proposed is to try, in the most reasonable way possible, to close the 2020 cycle of Fallas at all levels. The original idea is to trace or repeat as much as possible, with all the possible ingredients, a Fallas in July. There will be mascletaes, castillos, and that of the Fallas contest could continue, with the exception of four fallas of the Special Section and two or three of First Section that are already planted. It would be necessary to see how the theme is coupled. You have to talk to the fallas involved and the City Council to decide what to do. From second section to bottom and all children fallas are not affected and should continue and in the case of affected fallas, it is they and the City Council that have to decide.

-The dates from 15 to 19 is to keep the chip of the days?

-We did not want to skip the summer because the cycle had to be closed and a consensus had to be reached with artists, bands, fireworks ... When the summer passes you put your mind to the new fallas cycle. The goal is to get to 2021 without that hammer blow.

-The falleros question whether they can go down to the casal to have dinner or play Parcheesi.

-Of common sense and responsibility the parties are suspended. For example, in the Basque Country they went to a funeral and the marimorena has been armed. There may be board meetings, but putting 200 people in one place ... I don't know this about the coronavirus where it will take us.

-There are still people who think that it has been exaggerated by suspending the Fallas, what do you think of this issue?

-In Valencia it is still controlled, but if the Fallas were planted, it could make a call effect and that was what really weighed when making the decision. It is necessary to think of the visitors in Fallas more numerous are the Italians and people from Madrid, the points with the most cases. If 200,000 Madrid residents appear, the hospitals could collapse.

Do you call for commissions to maintain investment and not lower the budget for next year?

-The City Council is going to make an important effort so that the failures can fulfill the contracts that we have and the 2021 Fallas must be a copy of this year's budget or improved. Ideally, what happened this year should remain an anecdote that will be told again and again.

-What would you say to the sponsors of the commissions?

-I hope they support the Fallas at such a hard time.

-What remains to be solved?

-The commissions have to reschedule the acts of festivals because July is the high season, activities of the local and street markets and start with the contracts and program of 2021.

There are so many people working these days. There are many, many people to thank for everything they are doing for the Fallas world. To all of them, my most sincere thanks and respect.

Of all ideologies, sectors, sensibilities. From all responsibilities, tasks and positions. To take off the hat and be eternally grateful.

But History, in capital letters, someday, will tell what this man has done for the Fallas. And I, who knows intrahistory, would be delighted to describe his impeccable behavior, his height of vision and his overall vision.

Thanks Guillermo.

I had to say it.

Ruzafa Fallas Association:

And of course, from the Ruzafa Fallas Association we want to send our most sincere support and a special hug to two of our commissions, and their artists, who unfortunately have not been able to “displace” the fallas that we were going to enjoy this year and that will be burned. .
Falla Cuba Literato Azorín together with Vicente Martinez and Falla Reino de Valencia Duque de Calabria together with Sergio Musoles, Ruzafa is with you!
