Bijna is het zover. Begin maart gaan de eerste onderdelen vanuit de diverse werkplaatsen naar hun plek van bestemming. Hiermee alvast een voorproefje van wat we kunnen gaan verwachten.

Finishing my posts about fallas 2009 monuments, the pictures of Nou Campanar.

Winner of special section, the composition by Julio Monterrubio was commented by everyone, some like dit some others not, it's a modern, risky and stilized falla

I personally liked it, but wouldn't mind if El Pilar have won.

It was also quite funny, specially the scene in the changing rooms and reductions. 3rd prize of talent and grace

the husband is a jealous man and don't want his wife to wear such a small tanga and he offers her the big one.


reductions, people squashed in the door of the store

in the door can be read 'oferta en estampados' offers in printing, but 'estampado' also means squashed so we don't know if the offer are the printings or the people squashed, of course it loses a lot in translation.
Also depicts all the situations given in real queues for reductions, people jumping the line, etc.


The children falla was 3rd prize, i simply don't like so many ninots crowded in such a way you can't see the details and can't read the letters. It have high quality, probably, but i didn't understand the falla very well.

With this pictures i finish the report of fallas 2009 finishing all these threads started by vavoom, next year more!

You're right the falla of Nou Campanar is always breathtaking. However, the year 2009 wasn't their 3rd consecutive win, but their 6th. Next year in 2010, they will have a much smaller budget (as many, if not all, fallas) of supposedly "only" 240.000 euros. Let's see, if they can win again. That would be their 7th consecutive win. That's not a record yet, by the way. The record stands at 8 for Mercado Central and Regino Más.
