Pirotecnia Crespo launches a new trueno in the Town Hall square

Those from Alzira have explained that they devised this element a year before the pandemic

The Crespo Pyrotechnics, from Alzira, has taken this Wednesday to the Town Hall square its already characteristic multicolored "thunder 'Crespo Doble'", which has marked from start to finish the ninth 'mascletà' of the Fallas 2022.

«We have finally fulfilled our mission once again, which is to make Valencia great with our shows, our digital, sequential 'mascletaes', with colored smoke, an earthquake that left me deaf down there, a good digital show and a final blow very nice. The 'Crespo Doble' has triumphed », the pyrotechnician Vicente Rodríguez told the media after a shot that he described as « successful ».

Those from Alzira have explained that they devised this double thunder (thunder placed two by two) in 2019, a year before the pandemic. Vicente Rodríguez Sr. explains that in all the towns they fired this combination and «the 'mascletaes', of course, were doubles».

"We got a huge amount of work," he recalled. For this reason, he encouraged his son, also Vicente Rodríguez by name, to shoot him in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento. It was in 2020 when they premiered it at the Fallas in the capital, with a 'mascletà' in green tones in honor of the Civil Guard. They were the last to shoot before the coronavirus wiped out the party.

The multicolored 'Crespo Doble' has been present in "all the phases" of the 'mascletà', from the beginning to the end, leaving green, orange, red and also blue and yellow fumes, two tones with which the pyrotechnic, he explains, has also wanted to remember the invasion of Ukraine.

Vicente Rodríguez Jr. has wanted to "put one hundred percent of the meat on the grill" and not reserve dough only for the end. "It has been a success, deafening, very strong" and "with a 'marcheta' ending, little by little, then a digital and a final blow, all very synchronized", he has detailed.

In total, 99,900 kilos of gunpowder, without reaching a hundred "to put a little trick on it", deployed throughout the venue in a montage that started at 02:00 in the morning until 08:00.

Crespo pyrotechnics is one of the companies with the longest tradition in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento. They've been shooting at it since 1987. This historic company in the capital of the La Ribera region, which is more than 100 years old, holds the Guinness record for manufacturing and firing the longest firecracker in the world, at 13,500 m.
